Haiga salú//I don't understand the writing of a brief issue on beer -see Brief History of Porters and Stouts at CAAC blog- without the tasting of the brew you are talking about. In this my second chapter about the subject I'm reviewing what in my opinion is one of the better reflections of the old style Porter and one of my favourite ales ever. Cotoya, really gifted to find good ales and beers, brought me this sample from his first visit to London.Cheers pal! I hope you all find any of these words helpful enough to taste such an interesting ale style. A toast for you all.
1850 LONDON PORTERTipo: Porter
Fermentación: Alta
Alcohol: 5%
Brewery:Pitfield Breweries. London
Un gran exemplu y meyor homenaxe a esti estílu tan buenu //It's an almost black ale with ruby undertones. Its head is intense beige and has a great retention. Aromas of fresh made coffee but also hints of hops and an acid touch like that of wet wood. In mouth it has an extraordinary texture-without being full bodied- with a palate of black coffee, smooth caramel, nuts and the light pleasant acid touch from a secondary fermentation in wood. The toasted malt character and the hops dryness are really well balanced at the end, remaining to maintain an absolutely pleasant memory in your mouth. An extraordinary old style ale, highly recommended.
